- Emission: contraction of SVs + vas + prostate, expelling sperm into posterior urethra, induced by both sympathetic and parasympathetic stimulation
- Expulsion: pulsatile contraction of bulbospongiosus, ischiocavernosus, and levator ani muscles expelling semen down the urethra, controlled by somatic signals through the pudendal nerve, also sympathetic closure of bladder neck
- Orgasm: cerebral interpretation of sensory signals from posterior urethra and verumontanum, and contraction of the organs
